Challenge

The client faced challenges in scaling their platform to support future growth, efficiently managing simultaneous users, and delivering a seamless mobile-friendly experience. In fact, the platform encountered several architectural and usability issues that limited scalability and growth potential:

  1. Obsolete Front-End Code: Outdated and unscalable FE architecture prevented rapid development and slowed down new feature releases.
  2. Inefficient Authentication & Subscription Management: The existing architecture struggled to support increasing user demand and led to high requests to the payment system, impacting performance.
  3. No Mobile-Friendly UI: The lack of a responsive interface discouraged mobile users, leading to low mobile engagement and missed growth opportunities.

Solution

Our team undertook a series of transformative improvements to address these challenges and unlock new business potential:

1. Front-End Re-engineering for Faster Feature Releases

The main focus was on introducing a thoughtfully designed widget architecture that enables effortless feature extensions and faster releases. We rebuilt the FE architecture to remove obsolete code and optimize the system for quicker feature development. This made the platform more scalable and responsive to future business needs.

2. Authentication and Subscription Architecture Overhaul

We restructured the authentication system to reduce the load on the payment infrastructure, allowing the platform to support more simultaneous users efficiently and improve subscription management.

3. Complete Redesign of UI/UX with Mobile Optimization

A full UI/UX overhaul improved the customer experience on both web and mobile platforms:

  • Mobile Growth: Mobile visitors increased from 10% to 30% of total users.
  • Improved Web UX: The enhanced user interface contributed to a 20% increase in subscriptions.

4. Expanded Business Model with API Sales

We enabled the sale of APIs as standalone products, unlocking new revenue streams and expanding the platform’s business potential.

5. Introduction of a Learning Management System (LMS)

We developed a custom LMS to onboard and engage new users. The LMS provides educational resources, helping users familiarize themselves with the platform and become long-term subscribers.

6. Live updates depending on subscription level

Our team developed a system that allows users to get data as frequently as the rule specifies for each subscription level.

7. Improved security for Data API

As we were experiencing attempts to access the API without using our UI, we created an extra layer of security to prevent such actions and we created a separate API for API access.
